Lawrie Jordan is Brisbane’s best copywriter. (Well, all modesty aside, he is in the Top 200 at the very least!)
A multi-award winning writer, Lawrie has collected several gold and silver Brisbane Advertising Club (BAD) Awards, Goldie Awards for radio and an Australia Post ‘Creative Mail’ gong.
He has also been a finalist (twice) in the prestigious national Caxton Awards for outstanding press advertising.
Lawrie is a former president of the BAD Club and was the ‘BAD Person of the Year’ in 1995.
This highly experienced all-rounder has worked at numerous Top 10 Brisbane ad agencies including George Patterson, Clemenger, Concept, Cooee, Ogilvy & Mather, Darcy McMannus Masius, and Leo Burnett where he was Creative Director for two years.
In the mid-80’s he worked for two years in London crafting retail ads for DFS Dorland Advertising.
Lawrie has tutored at QUT (Communications) and has run the Brisbane Ad School’s Copywriting course.
He is also a published author (“The Last Melbourne Cup” – Zeus 2003).
And yet he still remains humble.
